Phoenix Sweater by Fibre Mood

Vor kurzem habe ich einen coolen Jungs-Schnitt entdeckt: Der Phoenix Sweater. Das Schnittmuster ist Teil eines neuen Nähmagazin, das vor kurzem auf den deutschsprachigen Markt kam: FIBRE MOOD. Herausgeber sind Isabelle und Teresa die ehemaligen Autoren von „La Maison Victor“. Fibre Mood organisiert an jedem zweiten Mittwoch im Monat eine Linkparty, bei der Fibre Mood Werke verlinkt werden können.

Recently I discovered a great pattern for boys: : The Phoenix Sweater. The pattern is part of a new sewing magazine that was recently launched on the German-speaking market: FIBRE MOOD. The editors are Isabelle and Teresa, the former authors of „La Maison Victor“. Fibre Mood organizes every second Wednesday of the month a link party where Fibre Mood creations can be linked.

Das Motto der heutigen Linkparty ist „Ärmel“. Da ich meinem Sohn nicht unbedingt einen Pulli mit Trompetenärmel verpassen wollte, griff ich zu einer List… … und habe die Ärmel mit einem coolen Ripsband dekoriert.

The motto of today’s link party is „sleeves“. Since I didn’t really want to give my son a sweater with trumpet sleeves, I decorated the sleeves with a cool ribbon.

Zu Beginn meiner Näh-Karriere habe ich oft appliziert. Wie etwa bei dieser Tiger-Jacke. Damals wäre mir der Fehler nie passiert. Ich habe nämlich das Ripsband einfach auf den Sweatärmel aufgenäht. Mit der Folge, dass ich am Ende des korrekt abgemessen Ripsband noch ziemlich viel Ärmel übrig hatte. Das Wissen, dass sich Sweat beim Nähen ausdehnt, muss durch die Maschen meines Gehirns gefallen sein.  Tja, so habe ich das Rissband nochmals abgetrennt, im zweiten Lauf Stickvlies unter den Ärmel gelegt und diesmal ging der Plan wunderbar auf.

At the beginning of my sewing career I often appliquéd. As for example with this tiger jacket.  At that time the mistake would never have happened to me: I simply sewed the ribbon onto the sweatshirt fabric. With the consequence that I still had quite a lot of sleeves left at the end of the correctly measured ribbon. The knowledge that Sweat fabric expands when sewing must have fallen through the meshes of my brain.  Well, so I removed the ribbon again, put embroidery fleece under the sleeves in the second run and this time the plan worked out wonderfully. 

Als weitere trendy Zugabe habe ich coole Streifenbündchen vernäht. Nachdem ich von meiner Bomberjacke mit Cuff me‘s so begeistert war, musste ich auch welche für meinen Sohn vernähen.

As another trendy addition I sewed cool striped cuffs. After I was so enthusiastic about my bomber jacket with those cuff’s, I had to sew some for my son. 

Es werden diesen Herbst sicherlich weitere Phoenix Sweater in den Schrank meines Sohnes wandern. Beim nächsten Exemplar werde ich eine Paspel in die tolle versetzte Schulternaht einnähen.

Certainly there will be more Phoenix sweaters in my son’s wardrobe this autumn. For the next one I plan to sew a piping into the shoulder seam.
