Finch dress blog tour

The Finch dress is the latest pattern of the Australian label Sewpony and I’m exited to be part of the Finch blog tour, which is taking place this week.

Sewpony hat vor kurzem einen neuen Schnitt herausgegeben: Das Finch Kleid! Und ich freue mich Teil der Finch Dress Blogtour zu sein, die diese Woche stattfindet. 

The Finch pattern is a relaxed fitting, feminine style dress with lovely details. And as usual with sewpony, her newest pattern comes with many options: The dress can be made sleeveless and finished with bias binding or with gathered sleeves in three different lengths.

Mit dem Finch Kleid kauft ihr einen femininen, körperumspielenden Schnitt mit vielen liebevollen Details. Wie üblich bei Sewpony beinhaltet der Schnitt mehrere Varianten. So kann das Kleid ärmellos, oder mit Ärmeln in drei verschiedenen Längen genäht werden. 

The rounded neckline is finished with bias binding and the dress back features a keyhole opening with the bias being sewn into ties to create the back closure.

Der runde Halsausschnitt wird mit einem Schrägband versäubert, das im Rücken zu einer süssen Schlaufe gebunden wird. 

The waist is drawn in with thick elastic which can be sewn all the way around or just for three quarters of the length and accented with buttons at the front. I’ve made some changes to that part: Since I enjoyed the shirring of my Boho style dress so much, I also used this method for the Finch dress. So I left out the elastic and did four rows of shirring instead.

In der Taille wird das Kleid mit einem Gummiband gerafft, das entweder in der vollen oder 3/4 Länge aufgenäht wird. Diesen Teil habe ich etwas abgeändert. Mir hat es bei meinem Boho Kleid solchen Spass gemacht, das Kleid in der Taille zu smoken, dass ich dies beim Finch Kleid wiederholen wollte. Ich habe also das Gummiband weggelassen und stattdessen vier Reihen gesmokt. 

I sewed the dress in size 6 and extended it to size 7. When I look at the pictures, however, the dress has become a bit short. For the next time I will therefore choose size 8 in length.

Das Kleid habe ich übrigens in Grösse 6 genäht und verlängert auf Grösse 7. Wobei, wenn ich die Bilder betrachte fällt es doch etwas kurz aus. Ich schätze, ich werde als bei einem nächsten Mal besser auf Grösse 8 setzen in der Länge. 

By the way, the fabric is a a cotton lawn by Cotton + Steel. I found it a while ago at a local fabric store. This cotton lawn is lightweight and airy, just perfect for this pattern.Wenn ihr euch gefragt habt, was das für ein Stoffschätzchen ist: Das ist Baumwoll Voile aus dem Hause Cotton + Steel. Ich habe ihn vor einer Weile in einem meiner Lieblingsstoffläden ergattert. Der Stoff hat genau die richtige Leichtigkeit für diesen femininen Schnitt.
