A tropical Fringe Dress

Are you looking for THE summer dress? Then I have a hot tip: Sew yourself a Fringe dress! Fringe from the Californian indie label Chalk and Notch came out last year. My friend Bettina sewed a beautiful Fringe dress last autumn and crowned the pattern to the pattern of the year 2017! I’m for the dress to be on the winners‘ podium for the second time: This will be THE summer dress 2018!

Bist du auf der Suche nach DEM Sommerkleid? Dann habe ich dir einen heissen Tipp: Näh dir ein Fringe Kleid! Fringe vom kalifornischen Indie Label Chalk and Notch kam letztes Jahr heraus. Meine Freundin Bettina hat letzen Herbst ein traumhaftes Fringe Kleid genäht und den Schnitt zum Schnittmuster 2017 gekrönt. Ich bin dafür, dass das Kleid zum zweiten Mal aufs Podest gehört und meine: Das wird DER Sommerschnitt 2018!

Adlico Textile has provided me with this wonderful rayon fabric from the Esoterra collection. In my last post I showed you my first outfit made of an art gallery fabric designed by Katarina Roccella. Just as the white Tropicalia fabric had to become a pleated skirt, this dark, light-flowing rayon fabric could become nothing more than a dress, a fringe dress!

Adlico Textile hat mir diesen wunderbaren Viskosestoff aus der Kollektion Esoterra  zur Verfügung gestellt. In meinem letzten Post habe ich euch mein erstes Outfit aus einem Art Gallery Stoff nach einem Design von Katarina Roccella gezeigt. So wie der  weisse Tropicalia Stoff ein Faltenrock werden musste, konnte dieser dunkle, leicht fliessend Viskosestoff nichts anderes werden als ein Kleid, ein Fringe Dress!

I chose view A because I found this version corresponds to the lightness of the fabric. To be on the safe side, I sewed a blouse as a sample. I will show you these next time. Since the blouse fit perfectly, I dared to sew the dress.

Ich habe mich für Variante A entschieden, da ich fand diese Schnittvariante entspricht der Leichtigkeit des Stoffes. Um sicher zu gehen, habe ich als Probestück eine Bluse genäht. Diese werde ich euch beim nächsten Mal zeigen. Da die Bluse hervorragend passte, wagte ich mich ans Kleid.

The only change I made was to narrow the darts in the back. I have a rather broad cross and wanted to make sure that I had enough freedom of movement. I think the fit is excellent! The dress is incredibly comfortable to wear and creates the perfect balance between loose-fitting and body-hugging thanks to the darts and ties.

Als einzige Änderung habe ich die Abnäher im Rücken verschmälert. Ich habe ein eher breites Kreuz und wollte sichergehen,
dass ich genügend Bewegungsfreiheit habe.
Ich finde die Passform 1A! Das Kleid ist unglaublich angenehm zu tragen und schafft die perfekte Balance zwischen Figur umfliessend und körpernah dank den Abnähern und dem Bindeband.

Of course, the high-quality fabric also adds its own. This is the first time I’ve sewn rayon fabric from Art Gallery. Compared to other rayon fabrics it is rather light; that makes sewing a little more challenging, but the drape is simply beautiful. I can only recommend the pattern and the fabric! Do you some good and treat yourself to one or the other. You won’t regret it!

Sicherlich trägt der hochwertige Stoff auch das seine hinzu. Ich habe zum ersten Mal Viskosestoff von Art Gallery vernäht. Im Vergleich zu anderen Viskosestoffen fällt er eher leicht aus; das macht das Nähen etwas herausfordernder, dafür fällt er einfach wunderschön.
Ich kann euch Schnitt und Stoff nur ans Herz legen! Tut euch etwas Gutes und gönnt euch eines oder beides! Ihr werdet es nicht bereuen!
