If you are looking for a stylish sewing magazine, I have a hot tip for you: Fibre Moods! The latest issue of the IT sewing magazine has been published today. I like that the magazine serves different styles and contains both sewing and knitting patterns. In addition, the models are artfully presented.
Today I’ll show you a pattern from this latest issue: The Arlette Rock. Ever since I saw this kind of skirt at my sewing friend Diana’s, I wanted to have one too. But since I have never owned such a skirt before, I was not sure if such a pattern would suit me.
But since it is well known that it is good to take steps outside the comfort zone, I simply did it. And if I take a risk, then I do it right. And so I sewed a favourite fabric: A rayon from Rifle Paper Fabric. I didn’t know what to sew out of it for a long time, until this project: The fabric seems to have been made for skirt Arlette!
The skirt is sewn relatively fast. Only the hemming of the frills needs some time. And I actually managed to cut 2x into the fabric! Well and then I had to mend the fabric before the garment was finished, although I almost never mend clothes…
As a addition to the skirt, which is quite loud with its colors, I wanted an equal sweater. I wanted to stay in the same colour spectrum and so I decided on an organic summer sweater in dark green.
Since the skirt is very feminine, I had a rather sporty pattern for the sweater in my head. I found it by Hedi näht and it bears the name Frau Luise.
As you can see I feel completely comfortable in my outfit. Now only spring has to come!
Happy Sewing
