New Pattern: Curcuma Blouse & Dress

Curcuma Bluse & Kleid

Nine months ago I sewed the first version of curcuma. Today, almost a pregnancy later, I am very happy to present you this pattern! My wish when designing this pattern was that it would add spice to your wardrobe, give your everyday wardrobe a twist and accompany you on special occasions. I hope that you will be as excited about Curcuma as I am and that you will love sewing and wearing this pattern.

Curcuma Dress by Tilia Patterns

It is of great concern to me that women with different body shapes can sew my patterns. That is why curcuma is available in 11 different sizes from 34 – 54! Get your curcuma pattern with 20% reduction this week and celebrate the start of Tilia Patterns with me! The offer ends on Friday, 22 May 2020 at midnight (CET).

Pattern details

Curcuma is a modern, boho inspired garment with raglan sleeves, gathered neckline and a slit back. Its feminine details like the ruffled collar and the shirred sleeves give it a French chic feeling.

View A is a blouse with short or long sleeves. View B is a long or short sleeve dress with a ruffle and ends just above the knee.

Sewing Level

The pattern is classified as intermediate. It includes a few challenging sewing steps such as sewing the collar, binding the back vent and shirring the cuffs. These points are not difficult, but could be new sewing techniques for you to learn. Each step is explained to you in detail in words and with the help of numerous illustrations.

HOW TO PICK A SIZE

Choose your size according to your full bust measurement, as well as high bust measurement. The pattern is drafted for a Cup B. Should you be between the sizes in terms of measurements, choose:

  • The smaller size: If you have rather narrow shoulders and/or your bust is located at A or B Cup.
  • The larger size: If you have rather broad shoulders and/or your bust is located at B or C Cup.

For C, D Cup and larger, it might be helpful if you do a Full Bust Adjustment. In the manual you will find a detailed, illustrated description of how to proceed.

Fabric & Notions

This style is designed for a light to medium weight woven fabric with nice drape.

Notions: Elastic shirring thread; thread in a matching colour to your fabric, 4 inches (10 cm) of Tricot fusible interfacing or light weight fusible interfacing, One 1/2” (1.25 cm) Button

Tester Photos

I had a wonderful crew that supported me during the test phase of the pattern. Each one helped me on many different levels. And every single one of them sewed a beautiful curcuma blouse or dress.
