Whoa! You really knocked me out: I never expected this reaction when I posted a little teaser picture of my Suzon Shirt on Instagram! Thank you so much for your kind words!

On Instagram I asked the question which pattern I sewed here. Nobody figured it out. Honestly, I wouldn’t have come across the Suzon Shirt from Republique de Chiffon myself! In the original version the shirt has a quite different look. Suzon Shirt Hack by Republique de Chiffon sewn with Cloud9 fabric by Frölein Tilia

But when I saw this hacked version at Auguste et September, I just had to sew it! Above all I found this variation ideal for the pretty cotton fabric “Pocket full of Posies” by Cloud 9, which I recently bought from Hello Heidi Fabrics.

For this version, I omitted the splitting of the front and back and instead drew both in one piece. For the ruffles I cut two 8 cm wide fabric strips, each 1.5 x the length of the front part. I folded the strips lengthwise in the middle and sewed them right to right to the edges of the front part.

The long sleeves of the Suzon shirt can be downloaded here for free. So that the blouse sleeves can keep up with my long arms, I extended them by 2 cm. I have also drawn the back and shoulder parts of the pattern 1 cm wider. It seemed to me for my wide cross somewhat scarcely measured.

Otherwise I sewed the pattern in size 42 without any changes. A small hint: French sizes are about one number smaller than German ones. Otherwise I wear size 40. But with Republique de Chiffon size 42 fits me almost perfectly.

I hope I’ve been able to inspire you a little.
